Lawerance Road extension, Clontarf.

This south-facing extension to a protected Clontarf terraced house transformed the relationship between house and garden and vastly increased sun and daylight penetrating into the most intensively used areas of the house.
The form of the extension is sensitive to the context of the original house while being contemporary enough to create a subtle contrast. The gently pitched roof deals with the client's requirement to avoid a flat roof and also avoids any conflict with the upper floor window cills that could have arisen with a steeper slope.
Windows, Clere-storey windows, Roof lights and Large folding & sliding glazed doors create a light-filled interior with an intimate connection with the large garden,
